Honey Out Of The Rock Part 2

Psalm 81:16 He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee.

Yesterday I had written about getting Honey out of the Rock, if you haven't read it I implore you to check it out so that you have more understanding of what today’s Devotional is about. As I had mentioned in yesterday's post God has a deep desire to fill us with His Goodness and many times we don't gather in this Goodness because we either reject Him all together or go a way that is different from the one that He has tried to guide us down.

I also went over how there is a Rock from which we would receive this Honey, the Rock that would bring to us this overwhelming abundance of Goodness, and of course that Rock is Jesus Christ. As I have been dwelling on this Honey from the Rock God began to speak to me in a completely different manner than He had revealed to me yesterday. It was as though yesterday He showed me the Macro Understanding of the verse, the universal all encompassing aspect of it, and today He narrowed it down, showed me a Micro Understanding that is more personal and that is what I would like to share with you for today’s Devotional.

I was praying last night about this, letting it swim around my thoughts, and God started to bring to mind the essence of each of these things, the Rock and the Honey. Naturally speaking the Rock is tough, it is usually found in the dirt, in hard places. It is mostly worthless and not valuable for the most part, there are billions of Rocks in the world. Many times they represent pain and hardness, the Rock is essentially a worthless material that is usually stepped on in the dirt and is hard rough and is frequently used to cause pain.

Honey on the other hand is almost the complete opposite, it is sweet, it is something longed after, especially in the Ancient World and Biblical times. It was a delicacy, it was very very valuable and even today by weight it still is valuable. Have you ever really paid attention to how much real pure honey costs? It's outrageous like $20 for a little tiny bottle of the stuff. It's rare compared to most other things, especially a Rock, you can't just walk around and find Honey everywhere, you have to take time to either attain it or find it. Think about what it represents, in ads it is almost always associated with the Sun and Goodness, it's backed by bright and happy backgrounds.

So we see that the Rock and the Honey are almost antithesis’ of one another and it was as I thought more deeply on this understanding of these two things that God started to open my eyes to how the Rock and the Honey are aspects of my Life and how they also are aspects of Christ's Life. It is through Christ’s endurance of the Ultimate testing of dealing with a trial of hardness, one of pain, regulated to the dust. To being made in the Worlds eyes to be absolutely worthless and of no value, at time of walking the roughest road in Human History as He climb Golgotha carrying the Cross to His Crucifiction and Sacrifice, that from this Rocky Life Event the sweetest of all Honey was produced and poured out upon me and you and all of Humanity.

Jesus is that Rock that we get Honey from, but it took Jesus enduring the worst of the worst Rocky Life Events to produce the Best of the Best Honey we could ever taste in existence. And as God showed me this He then turned that focus onto my life, and He wants to turn that same focus onto your life. I don't know where you are right now in life, but I know where I am and where I have been over the past few years and it is for me the hardest, toughest testing I have ever had to endure. I have felt alone and left in the dust more times than I care to admit, I have felt worthless and as though no one has really cared for me.

Then God spoke to me and if you are in that kind of place now then He is talking to you too. This Rock that we find ourselves in right now, God is going to use it to produce Honey, but it's not Honey for us to feast on. No this Honey is like the Honey Christ produced, it is for others to be able to feast on as we show them the source of the better and true Honey of Christ. It is Honey for those who are saved to eat from as they are given the strength to see in us the Goodness that will come from the Rocky places they are in, so they continue in Hope through the trial.

I am praying that not only does God continue to produce in me Honey through these Rocks for others but that God does the same for you so that you can help the Lost and those who are Saved and still struggling like I am. I also pray for myself and for you, that God puts Pots of Honey in our lives that we can eat and gain strength from our brothers and sisters so that we can all grow together in the Goodness and Grace of the Lord!!!

I love you all, have a great day and blessed day in the Lord!
